Live music at the Nelson 24 Hour race!
This year the owner and staff of Nelson Ledges Race Course decided to enhance the ChampCar event by adding an enclosed area for food, drinks, local vendors and some very good live music - thank you.
We were surprised to find this on arrival - and so were the racing teams. Must have been a novel experience. The groups did not play all night - unlike the teams who did race all night (well most of them.)
NEW FIA Standard for Protective clothing
Most protective clothing will continue to be manuufactured to the FIA 8856-2000 standard. This new standard is incrementally being mandated on the international racing series. The major change is a 20% increase in the fabrics fire resistancy. We suspect this will soon become the manufacturing standard for all protective clothing.

Mostly a great weekend for all participants and a taster for the NASA Championships. See you there September18-22.

Do not forget your tags.

On consignment, Racetech RT4119 WHR Race Seat
NEW and still in with it’s original packaging. $1,250
The seat was purchased for a Porsche Cayman, but never installed because our customer bought a new GT4 Clubsport. No need to replace those seats.
This seat was purchased 2 years ago and before Racetech obtained the FIA homologation for the RT4119. So for sanctioned events the seat will need a back brace. The RT4119 is a very popular seat in the drag racing arena.
Original selling price $2,090. Now offered at $1,250.
K1 Racewear has a great custom suit program. This was our most straightforward suit customization. The process was simple and the results were perfect. The price difference will amaze you.
Our customers were fitted and a style selected using our stock of K1 suits (bottom right.) The K1 Precision II style was chosen - base price $699. To change the colors of the suit with extra trim added $100 per suit. To customize the sizing added another $100 per suit. It too 4 weeks for the suits to arrive.
Contact us to understand the multiple ways we can help you customize a suit (including patches, silkscreen and embroidery) from a variety of the best brands.
Racetech's RT4100 Series receives FIA Homologation!
These seats are new for 2019. They are one of our customers’ favorites for fit (torso and car), comfort, applications and quality. If there was one con - the pending FIA homologation. Now that has been resolved - and future purchases will arrived with those gold hologram FIA tags.
We always advise customers to install back braces when putting new seats into their vehicles. It’s practical and safer. For the RT4100, Racetech has made this easy - the threaded holes are pre- installed.
We have them in the showroom and always display them at our track-side events.
Early morning start with ARPCA at Pitt Race
Great weekend spent with the Allegheny Region PCA at Pitt Race. We always arrive the day before an event. Unpack the trailer and truck and then sunrise-ready to start the day.
We have to be prepared - DE & HPDE track events always start early. Tracks are open (hot) 8-8:30 a.m. but before that there’s the mandatory tech inspections and drivers/instructors meetings.
New stocking - Sabelt America
We only decide to stock and promote products after they have clearly demonstrated their motorsport worthiness. With Sabelt we are confident we can promote the brand.
We have learnt to appreciate Sabelt’s subtle nuances, Italian style and innovation from our research and our customers. Sabelt both surprises and makes our customers happy. Surprised because they were not expecting the immediate softness, comfort, lightness and that perfect ‘racer’ fit. A fit that comes from Sabelt’s long manufacturing history, racing experience and industry know-how.
We like working with companies that manufacture their own products - meaning they control the process, the quality is consistent. Many brands design their products, but outsource the manufacturing. Sabelt’s products are designed and produced in Italy.

Not even to be found on Bell’s website - it’s that new.
With their Rally Series (5 models) Bell is now offering to install a high-quality, integrated, competition level intercom system - at source (their state-of-the art factory in Bahrain.) They had offered something similar before, but the installation was out-sourced.
The GT5 Rally is optimized for Rally driving, but this helmet has been ordered for track use. Bell’s GT5 Carbon RD is available with a radio and a drink tube. Note, custom interiors (8 colors) are offered with Bell’s Carbon Series.
SIMPSON HYBRID S - 3 Point Belt Compatible
The only FIA certified head-and-restraint that is 3 point belt compatible. What does that mean? The X-PAD shares similar, innovatives features with Sabelt’s GT-PAD - the seat shown in red.

Ready for the Nelson 24 with ChampCar
This weekend (Sept 7 -8) Champcar is coming to Ohio. It will be their second 24 hour event at our local Nelson Ledges Road course. Due to noise restraints most tracks cannot offer 24 hour racing - but Nelson Ledges can.!
We will be there from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday as track-side support. SCCA needs valuteers for the event. Contact us for details.
Track-Side support with nasa Great Lakes
Nasa Great Lakes event at Pitt Race is always a significant event. They join forces with the Mid-Atlantic and the NE region. Pittsburgh Raceway has plenty of room to accommodate many, plus the drivers/racers love the facility and (of course) the track!
With the number registered, the ‘Storm’ race was added - joining Thunder and Lightning. And there were 3 races a piece. Unfortunately we were not able to bring enough coolboxes . We did our best, we took what we could but our distributors ran out of them.
The temperatures were extreme, and we know the extra costs make drivers reluctant to add a driver cooling system, but the benefits are well worth the cost and the effort. Once again it’s about safety and performance. (They are intermingled.) A rising body temperature is dangerous. An internal body temperature of 103 degrees - heat stroke.
RACETECH RT4100 new for 2019
New competition seats from Racetech. Same model 2 sizes - the HR (standard) and the WTHR (wide and tall.) We put them together to illustrate the obvious difference in the sizing.

Trackside support with NASA Great Lakes at Pitt Race
This weekend (July 19-21) will find us at Pitt Racewith NASA Great Lakes.
We intend to set-up our tent Thursday P.M. - weather permitting, but the showroom will be open on Friday until 4:00 p.m.
This is always a crowded event as 3 NASA regions share the event. Last year we experienced a 430 car count!
You can still call, email or message us for help, and we will do our best to get back to you a.s.a.p.
Each season multiple auto sport groups, clubs, organizations and race series ask us to attend their event as Track-Side Support. In 2018 we attended 17 different events at 8 different tracks supporting groups that included AutoInterests, ChampCar, NASA, PCA, SCCA, VRG.
We bring our trailer, our tent, a mini version of our showroom and our expertise. What we bring will be slanted towards the event but we always bring a collection of racing and sport seats, plus race helmets apparel, fluids.
We have traveled far from Road America to NCM; Autobahn to Pitt Race.
Contact us to see if we can help you.

Grattan Raceway, MI
Find us this weekend (June 15 & 16) at Grattan Raceway, M!.
This is our second invite to Grattan with the Rally Sport Region (RSR) PCA.
Grattan is known to racers as Michigan’s hidden ‘jewel in the crown.’ It is a technical course so challenging. It looks isolated but is actually very close to Grand Rapids. You can easily camp at Grattan but there are plenty of hotels in the vicinity. Despite more miles our travelling time is pretty much the same as going to Gingerman - thanks to its proximity to the freeways.
New to our showroom the Tillett seat brand. A composite seat for tight cockpits - yeh!
The seats are strong yet still comfortable. (The seat shell has been molded to fit the human contours.)
The Tillett B6 Screamer is FIA homologated and comes in two sizes.
There are two shell finishes - black gloss and carbon fiber (the outer layer is authentic carbon fiber)
SUNOCO Race Fuel Jugs - new feature
Sunoco’s 2019 5 gallon race fuel jugs no longer comes with an external venting cap - that’s the little rubber cap that often goes missing or opens when you do not want it to.
Instead the venting is done through the clear pour tube. Note the skinny long black tube on the image. Otherwise everything remains the same, including the price.
Stand 21 & Schroth 'HANS' enter the US market.
Only three manufacturers were allowed to manufacture the original HANS FIA certified head and neck restraint. Now the US patent has ended.

WALERO temperature regulating underwear
Created and designed by a racer (of course.) The Walero underwear uses NASA developed ‘Outlast’ technology and PCM , phase-change material.
Like race drivers astronauts have to wear protective suits, and often in extreme temperatures. PCM was developed to allow the body to absorb and release thermal energy as needed. Peak performance can only be reached when the body is comfortable. Any driver distraction is both a safety and a performance issue.
We will be adding WALERO to our inventory.
Bell custom painted helmet
Holley Goddard (Holleys Autobody, Canton, OH) has branched into custom helmets. As you can see - he has the skills.
Racetech RT4100HR & RT4100WTHR
NEW for 2019. We have this red seat (WTHR) in our showroom.
Racetech has designed this seat with the US market in mind. The seat better accommodates ‘athletic torsos’ but with expernal dimensions narrow enough to fit most cockpits. It also incorporates Racetech’s patented back-mounted technology.
K1 is well known for their karting gear, but now they have put their experience, expertise and knowledge into the auto sports arena.

You can still contact us for help/purchases - call, email, message.
Win a custom painted Bell M8 helmet - your design.
A good friend of ours and our local auto sport community recently lost his wife to cancer. He went from planning their family vacation to planning a funeral in less than a month. Obviously everybody was shocked and wanted to help - to do something in memory of Laura. It was decided to hold a raffle with all the proceeds going ‘The American Cancer Society.”
